Provo City Half

Melody and I were going to try to run together and go for the course record, sub 1:19.  Which seemed very doable if we were having a good day.  Seeing Kodi at the starting line with a goal time of 1:15, I knew getting that record wasn't happening.  But after her amazing performance, she deserves it!  1:12:55!!

Scott and Mike helped pace the whole race.  I ran pretty consistent throughout and felt really good.  For the first time I decided to try a GU at mile 6.  Then just my luck I knocked the water cup down.  Melody saved me and shared her water.  That GU really helped.  I felt really strong through mile 11, but I could still hold on to my pace till the finish.  Placing 2nd.

I was so happy to see a my time, being faster than my goal.  My garmin said 13.15 in 1:17:16, AP 5:53.  For some reason the chip timing was off a bit.  Melody came charging in soon after and broke 1:18!!  It was really a perfect day, and with the help of Scott and Mike, Melody and I were able to pull off some good performances.

Spent the rest of the day riding around with Lee on a 4-wheeler and playing with farm animals.
