UV Half Marathon

Well I am happy to say that I made it through the race better than I felt. I have been sick all week leading up to today and couldn't get a run in without coughing the whole way. Today was a bit of an improvement. I only coughed through half of the race. Energy level was low, but still managed a AP of 6:00 min/mile without over doing it.  I finished first female in 1:18:44

It was really a perfect, slightly warmer morning in the canyon. They switched the race to the other side of the road which was good, I think. I ran consistently between 5:55 and 6:05 and felt under control the whole time. Not thrilled with my overall time. But happy with how things played out. One thing I would have changed was not taking a GU with caffeine x2. That made me not feel well after the race. I also heard that there were no porta pottys on the course....which was a problem for some.

Overall, I really love this course and love all the runners! I was proud to represent Sojourners, as one of the many members. It was also fun to warm up and cool down with the "cool girls" aka Allie, Lily, and Jen H.
