Isn't this a great looking group of ladies? Lavender Days had an outstanding showing from the Sojourners Women's Racing Team. The top five women in the 5k were all SRT members. Summer, Melody, Jackie, Amber and Krystal.
Summer took it out at a smart pace and she, Jackie and I hung together for the first 1.5 miles - the majority of this section was entirely uphill. A nice downhill section followed but then Summer found that extra gear on with just less than a mile to go. I tried to hang on the best I could and finished in 2nd with a time of 18:13. The three of us missed a turn so we were about 100-150M off course. With the added distance my time probably would have been in the 18:30s.
It was fun seeing so many fun and familiar faces. Great job ladies!
