2013 Provo Freedom FestIval 5k -- Trevor Baker

Overall Time: 16:22
Place overall: 7
Place in age division: 2

Struggled big time in this one.  Felt terrible after 1 mile of running.  Did what I could and it was great to run against great competition.  Bret, Riley, Matt and Spencer are class acts.

5:01, 5:17, 5:35, 29. 16:22

Though I've been able to run most days through the past 2 months, it just hasn't been what I'd hoped for training and racing.  I feel like I've ran well for everything I've got going on right now, but it's frustrating not to train how I know I can and perform the way I want as well.  I've come to the realization that I may / and probably won't be able to race the times I want to this summer and fall, and that is ok.  I still am going to strive for the best I can obviously, but I need to make sure my life as a whole is in balance and right now I think it's a little scattered with school and our new daughter.  So, the races I'm signed up for, if it works out that I can run them, great, unfortunately I doubt I'll be able to build my fitness by leaps and bounds, I'd like to hold on to what I have right now and build maybe a bit, but I'm not going to do it at the cost of my other priorities.  If things don't work out where I'll be able to race the races I hoped, no big deal, I'll race them eventually.  Balance is the key right now from here on out.  This year is far from over, that said, I look forward to the day I can really put more effort into running and compete more.
