Tulip festival 5k

Tullip festival 5k.  I have never done this one before.  Thank you to the race directors for letting us in to race.  The weather was nice and rainy I haven't had a good rain run in a while.  My training has been going good, work tires me out but my speed workouts have been solid.  I was hoping to take this race, I was really afraid of Josh McCabe because he is Josh McCabe. I was expecting him to run a 13:45 5k today so I was shocked when it wasn't him breathing on my neck.
I love runnin in the rain but my shoes are really worn out and were really slippery so it was hard to get a comfortable stride in especially when you have to do those kamakazee turns throught the gardens.  I almost ate it multiple times.  So even though I barely survived the turns I was surprised that the thing that took me out was a 360 degree turn around a car.  So I missed the turn and kept running straight, when I turned around and got back on course I went from 1st to 3rd.  It would have been nice to have been able to duke it out with Trevor over the last mile.
So though I took third it was actually 2nd and maybe it could have been first.  I guess I'll just have to wait until next year.
Kudos to the race directors for trying to keep things together despite the extreme rainy conditions.
