Bloomsday 12k

Was pretty happy with how I raced. I felt like I ran a competitive race instead of just running a race to run. No one passed me the entire race well I don't count the first 2 miles because people are still joking for position and most of those people died. Especially happy no one passed me on doomsday hill or after it. I actually made a surge after the hill and was catching people which felt really good. The last mile I was working on passing one more guy which I wasn't quite sure if I could do it but I just stayed patient and started reeling him in slowly. I finally caught him with a quarter mile to go, now the test was on, to see if I could not let him pass me at the finish. I turned the corner and the last 200m were down hill so I popped into another gear and finished with out having him pass me. Very pretty course and very challenging. Next time I am going under 40. It is a most do race. There was a lot of competitive runners and very well organized.

Sorry I don't know how to turn the damn highlighter off. This is as good as it is going to get.

After race run:
After talking to my buddy Sean who I ran with in college, said that their was a dirt road that turns into a trail on the loop that I ran on the night before. I saw it but was scared to take it the first night sense it was getting dark so I decided to run it after the race to get some more miles in. I am so glad I did. It was called Rimrock trail and it was flat and on dirt. It has a very pretty view of Spokane, very pretty. Sean says he takes his team up there to do tempo runs. Well the run felt great, my legs felt great, either I didn't put enough into the race or it is the elevation that is helping me out. I was feeling like I was floating on cloud 9 because I felt like I got a piece of my racing spirit back in me.
