Trevor and Derick went 1-2 and I took first for women. I had done well on this flat course in the past and was anxious to see how I would fare 2 weeks post half marathon.
The first mile I felt great and was pulled along by the pack of men. By the second mile we had all strung out and I was really trying to push myself but I know I had more to give. The third mile was just plain lonely in the river trail and I only occasionally caught sight of the guys in front of me.
I did finish the last .1 with a 5:10 pace so that was some redemption from my slower 2nd and 3rd miles. I ended with a 17:46-.
