I'm apparently a slacker at posting, but I figured a few belated posts would probably not be too obnoxious.
The Wasatch Wellness run was a little rough, to be completely honest. It had been a rough week--we summited Timp on Tuesday, and did 10 miles at Sundance on Wednesday, and my uphill muscles were fried. Suffice it to say, the 3 miles up the canyon were brutal on tired legs. Going down was much funner, but still far from feeling good. I ended up second for women behind Melody Jenson, who has been tearing it up lately. In the end, it got chalked up to a great workout--and not a great race.

Freedom Festival 10K
The Freedom Festival 10K was a BLAST! I got to run with a former teammate, Nicole Lyons, for most of the way. The first hill up 9th wasn't too bad, and we cruised through miles 2 and 3. After the hospital, I lost Nicole a bit, but still chased her up the 9th East hill (which was crazy and crowded as always). In the end, I had almost a minute difference between mile splits, which was far from ideal, but given the course, made sense. I came in about 15 seconds behind Nicole. There were two real victories for me, though. The first, was that I ran about 2 minutes and 50 seconds faster than last year--something I was really excited about. It's nice to see the actually proof when you feel like you're faster and stronger than you were. The second was that I got to run with my husband through the finish line of his first 10K--and that was AWESOME.
