10 dollar race... not a lot of competition, but thought it'd be fun to do with half of my PT class. Decided to run more of a tempo and just sit on the shoulder of whoever and then win at the end. 5:20 through the mile, 5:10 2nd mile, 3rd mile the guy I was tailing started to slow so I just ran and chatted with him for another little bit and dropped down the pace the last .3 miles and got the win. Felt like a tempo effort overall. Realistically I'm prob in 16 flat to 16:10 shape which I'd expect for my training and lack of anything faster than 5:35s since des news... Our department won 1000 bucks worth of scholarship money for having the most participants in the race so hopefully I'll see a little of that next semester.
