This is an awesome race and was a great way to start the summer! I was so excited for this race because 1: I LOVE trails, and 2: it would be my first race in over 4 years! Felt like it was a good start to my return to racing. I felt calm and relaxed through the whole race. Never felt that I really opened my stride or pushed too much past my comfort zone, but the race definitely still worked me. Brutal course, but a ton of fun. I passed Derick right at the last mile to come in third not too far off the old course record. I can't wait for the other races in this series. I live for the trails! :)
