Thoughts for next time:
- Tailwind is gross and makes for a very mad stomach
- No protien gels, made stomach madder than tailwind
- Stick with what works for breakfast, no reason to change it up just because the run is farther
- Stick with my marathon gel plan, type and brand
- A vest is too much for race day
- A 20oz bottle will be plenty and much lighter
- Shoes were fantastic, Pearl Izumi N1 trails. No hot spots, blisters, or discomfort of any kind. I even wore them the rest of the day for hiking around Bryce park. Happy feet!
- Always plan for a long course (33.1 miles this time)
- Train next time and compete for the win
I'm so grateful for a strong healthy body and the opportunity to run such an event. Life is full of opportunities and I'm so happy I recognized and embraced this one.
