Freedom Run 5k

This is one of my absolute favorite races. This was the first year I did the 5k instead of the 10k mostly because the 10k seemed like it would be more stacked and I was enticed with a chance at on of the purses. Turns out I was right.

The race was ideal for how I like to run (sit and kick). Nobody, with exception of Dave Taylor during the first mile, took a gutsy lead. I got to stay near the tail of the lead pack for the first two miles. I made a move the last mile and was able to hold off for the finish. I am very grateful for how exciting running is lately because I am finally starting to feel fast. It's a feeling I didn't really have for the first 8 years after I got back from my mission.

Overall Men's 5k: 1st
Time: 16:29
