Des News 10k

There were lots of Sojourners representing the 10k and half today.

I got out and started at what I considered a "conservative" pace for this course.  Miles 1-2 are the best, 3-4 are ok, but you have to start working a bit harder, then 5 and especially 6 are really tough.  I was able to keep my pace right on target through mile 5, but I fell off pace a bit in the last mile.

Devra was just ahead of me from miles 3- to the finish and that helped me stay focused.  I wish I could have surged a bit so we could have worked together, but by the point I thought it would be a good idea I just didn't have any extra energy.    It was nice to see the Harper family on South Temple.  It definitely lifted my spirits!

I ran back to see Kassi finish a solid 2nd in the half.  Great job everybody!
